Chris Wilson, author of The Master Plan, delivers keynote at Sixth Annual RISE Court Graduation ceremony
On June 11, 2026, the RISE Court held its sixth annual graduation ceremony to recognize the achievements of the graduates from RISE Court I, RISE Court III, and RISE Court IV.
The keynote speaker, Chris Wilson, author of The Master Plan, gave inspiring remarks to the graduates. After the speeches, graduates were presented with commemorative plaques and a letter formalizing the reduction in the term of their supervised release. Several graduates took this opportunity to address the audience and express their appreciation to the RISE team that had supported and encouraged them throughout.
Author and Criminal Justice Activist Bryan Stevenson to Keynote Fourth Annual Graduation Ceremony of the RISE Court in the Southern District of New York
On June 13, 2024, death penalty lawyer and criminal justice activist Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative, was the keynote speaker for the RISE Court’s Fourth Annual Graduation Ceremony. Graduates were joined by family, friends, members of the RISE Court initiative, and even some of their sentencing judges, to celebrate their achievement. The majority of the 60 graduates and participants at this year’s ceremony reside in the Bronx.
